I drink this shake usually 6 out of 7 mornings a week!
It contains a lot of goodness in it but unfortunately the colour doesn’t come out looking too hot. But whatever, it’s good for us and that’s what matters!
I currently use Kaizen Canada Vegan Protein powder I switch between the vanilla and chocolate flavour. But for this recipe I definitely prefer the chocolate! They also carry a Whey Protein if you prefer. It’s sold at Costco & Sobeys and of course at https://kaizennaturals.com/
I use to workout at Movati and after workouts I’d get the chunky monkey smoothie and it was sooooo good! But then I realized I can make them for a fraction of the price! So here’s my copy cat with a few twists:
1 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
3-5 ice cubes
Double Shot Espresso – I use Chiaro from Nespresso; you can also use any coffee here, just know that a coffee is larger then an espresso so you may have to adjust your milk and ice cube combo accordingly.
1/4 cup water (basically to get the excess espresso out of the coffee cup)
1 scoop chocolate protein powder
1 tbsp peanut butter (Or almond butter)
1 tbsp flax seeds (heyo fibre!!)
1 tbsp Maca powder (a natural de-stresser, yes please!)
1 tbsp MCT oil (heyyyy brain power)
Drop all ingredients in a blender and blend it up and enjoy!
